MidCentury Matcha Mama
Babymoon in Carmel, CA
The Hyatt Highlands Carmel
This property had exquisite views and really is the best the Central Coast has to offer. Immediately upon stepping (okay, waddling! Hello, 2nd trimester), I felt transported to an island paradise reminiscent of Hawaii. The lush green jungle-like landscaping and treehouse exterior of the hotel is enhanced by the sweeping rocky coastline and crystal-blue waters. I never knew the golden state held such pristine beauty!
We got to enjoy brunches and lunches at the resort's Pacific's Edge restaurant. With floor to ceiling windows, the stunning views made for an unparalleled dining experience. We enjoyed locally sourced farm-to-table ingredients, my favorite from all the meals was the cream of mushroom soup. Although envious of the beautifully garnished cocktails my hubby got to enjoy, there was nothing for me to be in want of.
Downtown Carmel
Whimsical and charming, the easily walk-able (plus-size preggo approved!) city center is the ultimate draw of Carmel (perhaps second to its coastline).

With storybook Tudor architecture, it's impossible not to feel as if living in a fairytale while exploring. The bakery was a must stop, as were the boutique shops for a souvenir for baby.
The street art that adorns the buildings, like this Charlie Chaplin bleeding heart, adds to the character and charm.
We ventured outside of Carmel to a surprisingly close and again easy to park Monterey. Cannery row is admitedly a bit of a tourist trap, but we enjoyed a stroll through the souvenir shops and Ghiradelli's for some sundaes on the beach. (Hey, baby wanted it!)
We enjoyed cruising 17-mile drive, and it was nice to sit back and enjoy the scenery. A little hazy, as the central coast tends to be, still gorgeous rocky coastal views such as this at the pebble beach stop.
