Recipe:
8 oz spiced apple cider ( I use the Trader Joe's brand)
2 tsp matcha powder
Optional:
Ice (hot would be good too!)
Cinnamon stick and apple slice for garnish
This is so extraordinarily easy it feels like cheating for how good it turned out. Who knew matcha and apple cider would pair so well together? All I did was add my cider to a glass, ice, my matcha powder on top, and garnish. I sipped it down quickly as I tend to do with chilled drinks. The cider is so sweet with a hint of spice that the matcha doesn't need any milk or sweetener. This is making its way in to my fall rotation!
Today was a beautiful, sunny, and most importantly CLEAR day here on the central coast. I've started going on our daily walks in the morning rather than evening for several reasons. 1. It is starting to get dark out earlier. In this transitional phase to one nap, dinner and time after have become so late. 2. I enjoy the extra metabolism boost in the mornings since I have shifted my workouts to the evenings. I need to amp it up as I indulged in summer too hard and have started the countdown to TTC baby number 2. (I still have at least a month, but I do want to recover some of the weight I regained since reaching my goal.)
Being out in the morning and enjoying our perfect weather is my new favorite way to start the day. Ending on a workout can be rough since I'm so drained by the end of the day yet I've noticed results with just this bit of consistency.
My husband and I got to enjoy a date night last night while my son's grandparents babysat. I also got to enjoy my solo errands which is a luxury I had taken for granted, but enjoy so much now in the pandemic. I don't bring baby into stores unless I had to which hasn't happened yet. Fortunately our air quality has improved and we can resume our outdoor adventures. The air, sunshine, and sweet sips have me enjoying afternoon bliss. I have upcoming plans I so look forward to. A few little trips, fall adventures, and home improvements in the upcoming weeks hold my imagination for now before we shift again into baby prep mode.
Be well,
Elle
