Like a healthy, alcohol-free pina colada, reminiscent of a dole-whip topped with a matcha latte drip.

After blending the frozen pineapple and coconut milk, mix the matcha and milk or water seperately, then slowly pour over the top. It begins to drip down gradually.

After a few minutes and sips, the matcha "latte" portion creates this tie-dye effect in the frozen drink. Refreshing, delicious, and aesthetic! My matcha portion could have used a more thorough-whisking, as you can see the clumps of powder against the glass. Still delicious!
Recipe:
Frozen:
1 cup frozen pineapple chunks
1 cup milk of choice (I used unsweetened coconut milk)
Add your milk FIRST to a blender, then the frozen pineapple. Blend until smooth and creamy. Pour in glass, sip down if needed to leave an inch of space for the matcha.
Matcha "latte" float
1 tsp matcha powder
1/2 C milk of choice or water. Mix together in a separate glass ideally with a small whisk or vigorously with a spoon. Slowly pour over the frozen drink and enjoy!
This was my first quiet calm moment amid a cranky week. We have begun the weaning process, dropping one feed at a time. So far, we have successfully dropped the first nap feed and replaced it with his mid-morning milk from his sippy cup. This has led to a shorter early nap as he is hungry for lunch sooner, but his late afternoon naps have become a longer and welcome break. With his fan on, nursery, hall, and kitchen doors shut I was able to run the blender. I sipped down my frozen pineapple drink and was instantly transported to an island paradise with vibes of the tikki room at Disneyland. I was reminded of the copycat Dole Whip recipe I tried at the start of quarantine, and then added my matcha. Watching it slowly drip into the frozen drink was so peaceful in the silent living room. I began my game time (Animal Crossing New Horizons!) and saw my peacefully sleeping son on the monitor. Drink in hand, it was a perfect afternoon. His nap lasted nearly two-hours and mama got her matcha caffeine boost for prepping dinner, cleaning, and evening routines!
